Reno Radon Mitigation Installation

Radon Mitigation System Installation in Reno, NV

Once a radon test confirms your home is above the EPA’s 4.0 pCi/L action level, the fix isn’t complicated — but it does need to be sized and placed correctly for your specific foundation. Our radon mitigation systems are custom-designed on site, not dropped in from a generic template, because a basement in an older Reno neighborhood and a slab-on-grade home in a newer Sparks development need genuinely different setups to work properly.

How a Radon Mitigation System Works

The most common and effective approach is called sub-slab depressurization: a vent pipe is routed from beneath the foundation slab (or from a crawl space), up through the house, and out above the roofline, where a continuously running inline fan pulls soil gas out from under the home before it can ever seep indoors. Done correctly, this single system typically reduces radon levels by 80-99%.

Our Radon Mitigation Installation Process

Foundation assessment — a radon contractor evaluates whether your home has a basement, crawl space, or slab-on-grade construction, since each requires a different vent pipe routing and fan placement strategy.

System design — pipe route, fan location, and exterior discharge point are planned around your home’s layout and, where possible, placed to minimize visual impact on the house’s exterior.

Installation — most residential radon abatement installs are completed in a single day, including sealing any major foundation openings that could otherwise let soil gas bypass the system entirely.

Post-installation testing — every install is followed by a verification test to confirm the finished system actually brought your levels below the action level.

Why System Design Matters More Than Brand

An undersized system, a poorly sealed slab, or a vent pipe routed through the wrong part of the house can all leave radon levels only partially reduced. Our radon specialists are trained to current NRPP/AARST standards specifically so the design gets it right the first time.

We install radon mitigation systems throughout Reno, Sparks, Verdi, Spanish Springs, and Cold Springs, on both older homes with basement or crawl space foundations and newer slab-on-grade construction.

What a Finished System Looks Like

The vent pipe typically runs through a closet, garage, or along an exterior wall, painted to match the siding where it’s visible outside, and the inline fan is quiet enough that most people forget it’s running at all.

Radon mitigation vent pipe and inline fan system installed on the exterior of a Reno home
This exterior vent pipe and inline fan show what a completed radon mitigation system looks like from the outside of a Reno home. The pipe is routed to clear the roofline so soil gas vents safely above living areas, and the fan runs continuously to keep indoor radon levels below the EPA action level.
